An introduction to the shrine wedding ceremony
We will introduce about the shrine wedding. (※It's an example in Yoyogi-hachiman shrine to introduce below.) The matchmaking of both families is performed by Shinto priesthood and a shrine maiden based on the way of thinking to which I say "It's marriage to tie a house and a house up newly." by shrine wedding and Shinto-style. There is a little difference by the shrine where you hold a wedding ceremony, but the required time of the whole wedding is about 30 minutes to 1 hour.

【I want to know it! Sankon no gi】
What is called, the ceremony for the Exchange cups of SAKE for the wedding is called 【SAN-SAN-KU-DO】or 【SHIKI-SAN-KON】
As a flow, a shrine maiden is having a libation and a cup of 3 of large, medium, small size in front of the bride and groom. Libation is poured in turn and the accepted order is also decided. When drinking, you make a cup diagonally three times, but the cup is brought to the lips first twice and drink in the 3rd time. To drink three cups of large, medium, small size each three times, it seems to be called SAN-SAN-KU-DO.
1 A bridegroom receives a small cup of sake, and I drink first. After drinking, a bride hands it and drinks.
2 A bridegroom receives a medium cup of sake, and I drink first. After drinking, a bride hands it and drinks.
3 A bridegroom receives a large cup of sake, and I drink first. After drinking, a bride hands it and drinks.
※ When the person who can't drink liquor informs a shrine beforehand, there is another way like you drink water, or kind of imitation Sake.
